"Global Climate Change"
-RECENT FILMS AND VIDEOS-

1 - "Home" (2009, 93 min.) - contains stunningly beautiful and dramatic nature photography. It is head and shoulders the best documentary film on global climate change that has been made to date. Never have we seen such a clear description of what is happening to life on earth and most importantly WHY it is happening. Award winning French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand allows us to SEE for ourselves the environmental changes happening right now all over the world.

Opening in 181 countries in 2009, the film broke the world record for the largest film release in history. A non-profit consortium of companies, PRR, financed the film and has made it available free for downloading on the Internet or watching on YouTube. They deliberately did not copyright it.

2 - "The Story of Stuff" (2007, 20 min.) - "it'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever".

We didn't realize, for example, that one third of the earth's resources have been consumed in just the last 30 years or that only ONE percent of all the stuff made will still be in use in six months. Put another way, 99 percent of the stuff we harvest, mine, process, and transport is trashed within 6 months. Yikes... if this pattern of use of the earth's resources continues, what will become of the place?!

3 - "Arctic Tale" (2007, 86 min.) - Queen Latifah tells us very movingly in her own words the story of the birth a baby polar bear and a baby walrus in the Arctic and follows them as they grow up in a world of warming sea waters and a shrinking ice pack. This remarkable documentary funded by the National Geographic Society has some of the rarest footage ever taken of these two endearing creatures. "Global climate change" takes on real meaning when you watch two of your friends struggle to live and adapt in an environment so different than their ancestors did...
