A
FEW THINGS WHICH HAVE BEEN
WRITTEN ABOUT SOLAR HAVEN
(either
in the media or in letters sent to the Solar Haven web site)
Jim and Mindy Phypers have been successful in doing what Tucson's Civano and other advocates of solar energy have not yet been able to do: Demonstrate the feasibility and cost effectiveness of both active and passive solar installations, wind generation of electrical energy, and water harvesting strategies.

Loved the pix of your place!!! Congratulations! You guys are soooo amazing at creating an ideal world in the desert. Again, congratulations!

That the Phypers were able to accomplish all they have for a mere $88,000 shows a truly impressive Project Management ability. In fact, Solar Haven is a project which can, and in fact should, be used as a model of an affordable ecological house.

Can't believe those pics. I'd really love to see what you've done. Can I plagiarize it?

Found your website and I've been drooling over it for hours! You have one of the very best thought out and complete websites I've ever seen, and the pictures are so completely satisfying (you have enough of them for all the steps), that I'm really in awe of your project. Mostly, I'm glowing with pleasure that it's possible for a modern day man and woman to use what's available and make life better.

If Israel were to follow the Phyper's lead in retrofitting existing mobile homes in our mobile home parks (or "caravan estates" as they are known here) in Israel, the parks could be transformed from disposable warehouses for poor immigrants to attractive options for permanent settlement highlighting energy conservation.

Fantastic, just fantastic. Congratulations.

Your approach to home projects shows innovation and a dedication and respect for mother earth; a nice combination we appreciate. We found your site educational and fun, and will refer to it again as we progress in our own projects.
